Coach Livrone began his coaching career in 1991 when he led the endurance runners of the Freeport High School Track and Field Team. He has been coaching the endurance runners ever since and has coached several WPIAL medalists, WPIAL champions, State qualifiers, and State medalists. The 2015 season will be his 25th as a Freeport HS T&F coach.

Coach Livrone has coached XC at FHS for 16 years. In the fall of 1998, Coach Livrone started the Freeport High School Cross-country team. That first team had only 5 girls but that would be the beginning of a fast growing, quickly improving team. Coach Livrone coached the first 6 years for no pay, as the cross-country team was considered an independent team. In 2004, the school board approved the Freeport Cross-Country team an official team sport. In the ten years of the official existence of the FHS XC Team, the boys and the girls have compiled a 131-59 record. 1 Girls Team and 25 individuals have qualified for the State meet, with 2 winning State medals. FHS has become a team to beat in the WPIAL.

In the summer of 2003, Coach Livrone and Head Track Coach Bill Dillen traveled to the University of North Carolina at Asheville to attend the 8 day USATF Level II Coaching School and Coach Livrone became certified as a Level II Endurance Coach by USA Track and Field. In November of 2003, he traveled to Dallas, TX, at his own expense, to attend a four day, Level III Advanced Endurance Clinic with some of the top distance and XC coaches in the country.

Coach Livrone graduated from Burrell High School in 1974. He graduated from Penn State University in 1978 with a BS in Secondary Education and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984 with a Master of Education Degree in Education of the Gifted and Talented. He recently retired after 34 years of teaching Chemistry, 31 years at Freeport High School.
